Cub Section
New Skills, Camping, and Teamwork
Cubs is where children aged 8-10½ start taking on bigger challenges, getting properly introduced to the outdoors, and learning how to work as a team.
- Learning Practical Skills: Cubs work towards a huge variety of badges, picking up useful skills like map reading, fire lighting, DIY, and cooking.
- Camping Trips: The adventure steps up with weekend camps, where they get to sleep in tents, cook outdoors, and spend quality time in nature.
- Working Together: Children are split into small teams (Sixes) where they learn to support one another and take on their first small leadership roles.
- Achieving Goals: Through dedication and trying new activities, they work their way toward earning the Chief Scout’s Silver Award, a goal they can be truly proud of.
